So just for kicks and giggles...does anyone go on Xanga anymore?

Time for an entry, methinks. Although I do hate writing entries because they feel so incredibly self-centered. But what are you going to do?

Well. So...I'm quitting Studio becoz of their hours and becoz of the fact that I need to get a higher paying job anyways. Earlier this week I was just a wreck...okay, I know that there are a lot of people who can get home at eleven and get five hours of sleep and live on a minute-to-minute schedule, but I am definitely not one of those people. I was so tired and behind on homework Thursday that I stayed home from school AND work. And after seven hours of sleep I feel just fine! If I can make it next week till Thursday (my last day) everything should be just dandy.

Tomorrow = Winfield!!! With my sis and Mintra. Time to wake up at five AM, get there at eleven, music myself crazy all day, and get home late that night.

Holy cow...I just looked at the calendar and it seems that I am eighteen in a week and a half. Crazy. Not one of those "I'm leaving behind my childhood" people, but now I can...what can I really do? Vote, buy cigarettes (which isn't even applicable), sign a few more forms/have different legalities...yeah, turning eighteen doesn't seem to be worth the fuss. If I feel some sort of a new rebirth or epiphany on the twenty-sixth I'll let you know.

I don't think it's really hit me yet. I'm probably not supposed to say anything since AMC doesn't "advertise the negatives," but AMC Oak Park 6, my workplace, is closing. Keep in mind, this is the theatre I have been at for over a year and have absolutely loved, where my co-workers are like family and are the most fun and amazing people you will ever meet, where you can slack off all day and pull fun little pranks on your managers, where there are so few people during the weekday that you can actually do your homework there, where you can get all kinds of illegal and cheap/free food, where I learned to play Texas Hold'em, where I played baseball in the lobby, where I got a ton of free college advice, where (one of my favorite memories) Kaity and I changed the movie titles to completely ridiculous puns and soon a foreign guy came up to look at movie times and promptly left...

Oh my goodness. I have SO many memories of that place. I am really, really, really going to miss it.

Well, except the pay. But where else am I going to find a community like that, where we can have so much fun on the job and have such long breaks and goof off with each other and...oooh and the crazy people who go there on a regular basis, like the autistic guy who sits there for fifteen minutes telling us about how the Royals or the Chiefs are doing, or the lonely, sweet old man who comes up there many a Saturday night to ask us what all the movies are about so he can decide what to come see that Sunday...he's just going to go up there and it's going to be closed.

Did I mention that it closes on Sunday?

At least they could have given us notice. But I guess we have to treasure the last weekend we have there while we can.

Sorry I'm being ridiculous about this, but I really do love the place. And it's quite a shock. They only just told us. I'll probably move to Studio 30, but it won't be the same. But oh well...I'll give it a shot and see what comes my way.

I'M TIRED OF SCHOOL!

Let me out of here.

I'm tired of stupid seating charts, math homework, staying "on top" of everything, busy schedules for which one must plan out the whole week, writing essays...I know I'm sounding whiny but I'm tired of the system by now.

Ah well. Anyways...the exchange kid is doing well. His English has gotten a lot better by now! Although the not getting out of bed until about seven o'five thing is kind of annoying me, he's doing well. Very sweet kid.

But we still aren't pronouncing his name right! Nobody can. We're still working on what we're calling him...could you imagine going to another country and no one knowing how to even say your own name?

Wellp. Only 178 more days of school to go, eh?

NEWS IN SHORT:

Sooo on Saturday I'm getting a foreign echange student. From Jordan. His name is Abdallah, he sounds like a perfect little angel, and he's fifteen. I am SOOOO excited!!!!

He stays for a month, then we decide whether we want to keep him or not. If we do, he stays for the school year. I think, though, that we might get too busy for him, but that's the only thing I can think of.

And my family got a new car...my parents bought a little Ford Excort that my mom can use to drive to work, which means that I get the SUV since I have by far the shortest daily commute, therefore less gas usage. But the point is...we have three cars!!! Life is GOOD!

Although...I feel like I'm contributing to the destroying of our world and resources again by driving and using our fossil fuels...little by little...

It has been incredibly hot. Is it mindboggling to anyone else how no one is doing anything about it? Seriously...this is getting downright politically retawded. Or something. Not even gonna go into it. Know why?

Coz I'm going to BED!!! Datz right.
